Not every good-looking food can be tasty, and it's not 100% guaranteed to be real, natural food either. Some fruits are injected with chemicals and given sugar injections to make them grow bigger and appear more productive, making them sweet and large-looking. If consumed over a long period, this can harm your health.
So how can you test whether the food you're buying and eating is good quality or not?
When buying pineapple
When buying pineapple, color is the most important factor. A pineapple with a golden-yellow tint is the most suitable for immediate consumption. If you notice white spots on the eye-shaped areas of the pineapple's skin, that pineapple is not yet ripe.
Strawberries
When buying strawberries, gently press the fruit with your index finger and thumb. If the fruit feels firm, you should buy it. But if it dents in when pressed, that fruit is overripe.
Tomatoes
When buying tomatoes, you can check whether there are any blemishes or damage on the fruit. You can also smell the tomato. If it has a fragrant smell, go ahead and buy it. If it has no smell at all, don't buy it.
Cow's milk
If you want to test whether the milk you're buying is pure or not, there are two methods. First, put a small amount of milk on your finger and rub it against your palm. If it feels slippery like soap solution, the milk is not pure.
The second method is to put a small amount of milk in a glass cup and add 2 tablespoons of salt. If the milk turns blue, it is low quality milk mixed with chemical substances.
Honey
You can easily test whether honey is pure or not right at home. Put a drop of honey on your thumb. If it runs off your thumb, your honey is not pure. If it stays in place on your thumb, then it is genuinely pure honey.
Another method is to put a tablespoon of honey into two cups of water. If the honey dissolves completely in the water, it is fake honey with a lot of added sugar. But if the honey doesn't dissolve in the water and instead settles at the bottom of the cup, then it is genuine, good-quality honey.
