Whether you've slipped and fallen while running around, or cut yourself with a knife while chopping vegetables, fruits, meat, or fish while cooking, no matter what the reason for the injury, you need to treat it quickly.
You can clean the wound and apply medicine to prevent infection, but if you don't have a full set of medical supplies on hand (or can't easily get them), you can treat it with food and kitchen items from your own kitchen.
Natural oils
Apply your preferred oil—lavender oil, tea tree oil, or coconut oil—onto the wound. Just two or three drops is enough. You can also mix lavender oil and tea tree oil together in equal parts and apply it.
Both lavender oil and tea tree oil help wounds heal faster.
Vinegar
Mix a small amount of plain vinegar or apple cider vinegar well with about 85 milliliters of warm water. Then apply it onto the wound and gently massage it in. Do this about twice a day. After 5 or 6 days, you'll notice improvement.
Toothpaste
Apply a small amount of toothpaste onto the wound. Wrap the wound with a bandage so the toothpaste doesn't stain your clothes. Leave it on overnight and wash it off with water the next morning.
Coriander (cilantro)
Pound a small amount of coriander and place it over the injured area. Then wrap it with a bandage and leave it on for about 7 to 8 minutes.
Ginger
Peel a small piece of ginger and pound it well. Then place it over the wound and wrap it with a bandage. If you want the wound to heal quickly, keep it wrapped with a bandage. It will heal within a day or two.
Papaya
When bitten or stung by insects, cut a thin slice of papaya and place it on the painful area for about an hour. Papaya will help remove the venom from the insect sting.
Onion and garlic
If you bump into a bench or something hard, cut an onion in half and immediately rub it on the bruise.
You can also pound a clove of garlic flat and apply it onto the wound.
