If you just leave fruits as they are, or simply put them in the refrigerator as is, they'll end up withering, discoloring, or rotting within a short time. So here are some good ways to help your fruits stay fresh for longer.

Strawberries

If you just leave strawberries as they are, they'll wither within a short time. To prevent this, mix 3 parts water with 1 part vinegar and soak the strawberries in it. Then rinse them clean immediately and put them in the refrigerator. This way, they'll stay fresh longer.

Bananas

If you leave bananas as they are, they will darken. So wrap the stem end with plastic wrap. This way, they'll stay fresh longer.

Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the seed, squeeze some lime juice into the seed cavity, rub lime juice around the edges, and cover it with plastic wrap. This way, it will stay fresh just as it is.

Another way is to cut the avocado in half, place it in a container, and add sliced onion to it. This also helps it stay fresh longer.

Apple

If you cut an apple ahead of time before eating it and leave it as is, it will turn brown. To prevent this, after cutting it, wrap the whole apple back together with plastic wrap. This way, it won't turn brown.
