You've probably heard elders say that eating fish makes you smarter. This time, let's cook up a fish curry that's rich in nutrients, healthy, and has a nice spicy kick.
Ingredients
- Mackerel (or) Kakatit fish (or) any fish of your choice
- 1½ tablespoons chili paste
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 green bell pepper and 1 red bell pepper
- 1 piece of ginger
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 stalk spring onion
- 2 tablespoons cooking wine
- 2 teaspoons salt
Step-by-step Instructions
1. Scale the fish and clean it thoroughly. Then marinate it with 1 tablespoon of cooking wine and 2 teaspoons of salt for about 10 minutes.
2. Slice the bell peppers, ginger, garlic, and spring onion thinly.
3. Heat a pan and add half a tablespoon of cooking oil. Once the oil is hot, add the fish and fry until golden brown. Once both sides of the fish are fried, remove it onto a plate.
4. Add the remaining half tablespoon of oil into the pan. Then add the ginger, garlic, and spring onion, and sauté until fragrant. Add the chili paste and stir well until evenly mixed.
5. Once the oil turns red from the chili paste, put the previously fried fish back into the pan. Add 1 tablespoon of cooking wine, then add the bell peppers and stir evenly. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, flip the fish to the other side and cook for another 2 minutes.
6. Once all these steps are complete, you'll have a delicious, spicy fish curry ready. Transfer it to a plate, sprinkle some spring onion on top, and enjoy it deliciously with rice.
