Hello everyone! This time, the dish I'd like to share is bacon-wrapped fried shrimp.

Ingredients

  • 8 large shrimp
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 slices bacon (70 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons tomato ketchup

  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil and 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic (finely minced) and 2 shallots (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine
  • 2 stalks spring onion (cut into 1-inch lengths)

Step-by-step instructions

1. Remove the heads and shells from the shrimp and clean them thoroughly. Then, cut each shrimp in half lengthwise down the middle so that they open up flat, and carefully remove the vein.

Then, rinse again with water. Pat dry with a clean cloth.

2. Sprinkle a little salt over the flattened shrimp pieces. Cut the bacon to match the length of the shrimp, place it on top of the shrimp, and gently press it down.

3. In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 teaspoons tomato ketchup, ground black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil, and mix well.

4. Next, heat a wok or pan and add 2 tablespoons of oil. Once the oil is hot, dip the bacon-wrapped shrimp into the beaten egg, then place them into the hot oil to fry.

When placing them into the pan, keep the bacon side facing down and the shrimp facing up.

5. After frying for about 60 to 90 seconds, once the bacon turns golden brown, flip it over and fry for another 30 to 60 seconds.

Transfer the fried shrimp to a plate.

6. Add another 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan, then add the garlic and shallots, and sauté for about 30 seconds. Then add the cooking wine.

7. After stir-frying for about 30 seconds, add the mixed ketchup sauce and stir-fry until well combined.

Add the spring onion, fry briefly, then transfer everything onto a plate.

8. Arrange the bacon-wrapped fried shrimp neatly on top of the fried onion mixture.

And there you have it — a delicious dish of bacon-wrapped fried shrimp!
