Hello everyone! Koreans have an essential side dish that is always present when they eat their meals. That dish is kimchi. If you want to eat that kimchi as a snack, try frying up this cheese-flavored kimchi pancake.

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour 128 grams
  • Water 250 milliliters
  • Kimchi 250 grams (cut into medium-sized pieces)
  • Chicken (or) pork (or) beef 125 grams (thinly sliced)
  • Eggs 4 pieces
  • Cheese 60 grams
  • Chili powder 2 teaspoons
  • Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil 3 tablespoons

Ingredients needed to make the sauce

  • Mayonnaise 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce 2 teaspoons
  • Chili powder 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil half a teaspoon
  • Rice vinegar half a teaspoon

Step-by-step instructions

1. In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour and water together until thick. Then add the kimchi, eggs, cheese, and chili powder, and mix well until evenly combined.

2. In a small bowl, add the mayonnaise, oyster sauce, chili powder, sesame oil, and rice vinegar, and mix until well combined.

3. Heat a pan and add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, pour about one ladle of the batter into the center of the pan. Then spread it out towards the edges of the pan. After 2 minutes, flip it over to the other side and fry for another minute or so.

4. Now you'll have your delicious cheese kimchi pancake ready. Keep frying until all the batter is used up.

You can serve the cheese kimchi pancake you've made together with the sauce prepared in step (2).
