Hello everyone! This time, the recipe I'd like to share is Cheesy Baked Potatoes.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of potatoes
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 4 tablespoons of flour
- 500 milliliters of milk
- A little salt and black pepper
- 250 grams of Cheddar cheese
- Thinly sliced spring onions (or coriander)
Step-by-step instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray the baking dish that will go into the oven with cooking spray.
2. Put the potatoes into a pot, add water, and boil for about 20 minutes. Then transfer them into cold water to cool down.
3. Next, you need to make the cheese sauce. Heat a pot and add the butter. Add the flour and stir until it becomes crumbly. After about 2 minutes, the flour will turn golden brown. Add the milk and stir for about 2-3 minutes. Then remove it from the stove. Add about 200 grams of thinly sliced cheese and stir until well combined. Add salt and black pepper, and stir until evenly mixed.
4. Once the potatoes have cooled, peel them and slice them thinly, about half an inch thick. Then layer the potatoes on top of each other in the baking dish, and sprinkle a little salt and black pepper. (At this step, don't use all of the potatoes — use only about 1/3 of them.)
5. Take about 1/3 of the cheese sauce and pour it over the potatoes.
6. Layer another 1/2 of the remaining potatoes on top. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Pour over 1/2 of the remaining cheese sauce.
Do the same with the final remaining potatoes and cheese sauce.
7. Sprinkle the remaining 50 grams of cheese on top.
8. Then put the baking dish into the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes.
Once the time is up, you'll have a fragrant, cheesy baked potato dish ready to enjoy!
