Hello everyone! You're probably tired of cooking prawn curry the spicy way or the sweet way all the time, right? So today I'm sharing a recipe for a rich, flavorful coconut milk prawn curry that's delicious to eat.
Ingredients
- 12 to 14 prawns
- Half an onion
- A piece of ginger about one inch in diameter
- One chili pepper
- One can of coconut milk
- Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
- One tomato and one lime
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- A little salt and black pepper
- A little coriander
Step-by-step instructions
Peel and thinly slice the onion, garlic, ginger, and chili pepper. Peel the prawns and rinse thoroughly with clean water, then squeeze in half a lime, add half a teaspoon of salt and about a quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder, and mix well until evenly coated.
Next, heat a pot over the stove, add one tablespoon of oil, then add the onion and stir. Right after that, add the ginger, garlic, and chili pepper, and stir for about one to two more minutes. Then pour in all the coconut milk and let it come to a boil.
Once it comes to a boil, add the remaining salt and turmeric powder and stir again. At this point, remove the seeds from the tomato and cut it into medium-sized pieces.
Then add the tomato into the pot and sprinkle in a little black pepper powder. After that, add the prawns back in along with the other half of the lime, and stir. After about two minutes, the prawns will turn pink.
At that point, transfer it onto a plate, serve it with freshly steamed rice, top with coriander, and enjoy a delicious meal.
