Hello everyone! This time, I want to share a recipe for cheese-stuffed beef meatballs for all the food lovers out there. In Western countries, people usually fry these with turkey meat, but since turkey isn't easily available in the markets here in Myanmar, I've slightly adapted the recipe to use beef, chicken, or pork instead.
Ingredients
- About 1.5 lbs of beef (or pork or chicken, whichever you prefer can be used)
- 2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon of chopped coriander leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 egg
- A little ground pepper
- 1 bowl of bread crumbs/pieces
- About 1/4 bowl of milk
- Cheese
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Tomato sauce or chili sauce
Step-by-step instructions
Put the beef into a large bowl, add the finely chopped garlic, coriander leaves, salt, ground pepper, and egg, then put on gloves and knead it thoroughly.
In another bowl, mix the milk with the bread pieces.
Cut the cheese into small square pieces.
Next, add the milk and bread mixture into the bowl of beef and knead until well combined. Then take a small portion of the meat, place a piece of cheese right in the center, and shape it into a ball of the right size.
Once done, heat a pot over medium heat, add oil, and fry the meatballs for about 15 minutes. (For those who don't want to fry them, you can bake them in the oven instead. Bake in the oven at 375°F for about 30 minutes.)
After frying for about 15 minutes, you can serve them with chili sauce or tomato sauce.
