Spinach stir-fried with chicken broth tastes completely different from ordinary stir-fried spinach made with cornstarch. Not only does the taste differ, but the nutritional content in the dish is also higher.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil (or vegetable oil)
- 4 cloves garlic (crushed with the flat side of a knife)
- 1 small piece of ginger (peeled)
- 8 tablespoons chicken broth
- 450 grams spinach
- A pinch of salt
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Wash the spinach thoroughly with water and remove any tough or overripe parts. Then trim off the stems and separate the leaves.
2. Heat a pan and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic and ginger, and stir-fry until fragrant.
3. Pour in the chicken broth and let it come to a boil. Once the chicken broth is boiling, add the spinach, cover the pan with a lid, and let it cook for about one minute.
4. Then remove the lid and stir so that all the leaves are submerged in the broth. Cover again and let it cook until the spinach becomes tender.
5. Add a pinch of salt and taste to check the seasoning. Then remove from the stove and transfer to a serving plate.
And there you have it — a delicious plate of spinach stir-fried with chicken broth!
