Hello everyone! This time, I'd like to share a delicious recipe for stir-fried tofu with broccoli for vegetarians.
Ingredients
- Tofu - 1 pound
- Fresh broccoli - 1 head
- Chili peppers - 6 pieces (thinly sliced)
- Ginger, about 1 inch around - 1 piece (thinly sliced)
- Garlic - 3 cloves (thinly sliced)
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Cooking oil - about 750 ml (about 3 bowls)
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon and sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
Ingredients needed to make the sauce
- Light soy sauce - 1 tablespoon and dark soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
- Chili oil - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
Ingredients needed to make the slurry
- Water or chicken stock - 2 teaspoons
- Cornstarch - 2 teaspoons
Step-by-step instructions
1. Cut the tofu into pieces about 2 centimeters around. Also cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
2. To make the sauce, combine the light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, chili oil, and salt in a small bowl and mix well.
3. In another bowl, mix 2 teaspoons of cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of chicken stock or water until smooth.
4. Heat a pot, add water, and boil the broccoli for about 2 minutes. Then remove it and place it on a plate.
5. Add oil to the pot, and once the oil is hot, add the tofu pieces and fry them.
6. Once the tofu is fried, leave only 1 teaspoon of oil in the pot, then add the chili peppers and fry. Add the fried tofu and broccoli along with the garlic and ginger into the pot and stir-fry. After frying for about three seconds, add the sauce mixed in step (2) and stir-fry evenly.
7. Then pour the cornstarch slurry and sesame oil into the pot and stir-fry evenly.
And there you have it - delicious stir-fried broccoli and tofu! Just before serving, sprinkle with sesame seeds or chopped spring onions, and enjoy it deliciously with rice.
