Hello everyone! For those who love Myanmar food, I want to share a green tomato salad recipe that can always be found in every kitchen.
This time, instead of the usual red tomatoes, we'll be making the salad using green-colored tomatoes. The quantity given here is enough for a family of four.
Ingredients
- Green tomatoes (sliced) – six
- Shallots (sliced) – 2
- Roasted crushed peanuts – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic (sliced) – 2 cloves
- Fish sauce – 2 tablespoons
Source: Specialty Produce
- Sesame oil – 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
- Cooking oil
- Salt
- Chili
Preparation Method
1. Slice the tomatoes thinly and place them in a bowl.
2. In a small non-stick pan, fry the garlic over low heat until golden brown.
3. Strain out the oil from the fried garlic and set aside about 1 teaspoon of it separately.
4. In the bowl, mix together the shallots, crushed peanuts, fried garlic, the reserved garlic oil, fish sauce, and sesame oil until well combined.
5. Finally, add the tomatoes and toss everything together, then transfer to a serving plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
