Hello everyone! This time, the dish I want to share is a beef sauce recipe that tastes great paired with rice, and can also be mixed in when eating Nan Gyi Thoke (or) Noodle Salad.
Ingredients
- 1/3 of a cucumber (sliced thinly lengthwise)
- 100 grams of beef (sliced thinly)
- 2 shallots (cut into small cube shapes)
- 2 pieces of dried mushroom (soaked in water and sliced thinly)
- 1 tablespoon of thinly sliced ginger
- 2 tablespoons of thinly sliced spring onion
- 2 tablespoons of oil and 4 tablespoons of water
- 3 tablespoons of soybean paste
- 3 tablespoons of cooking wine
- 1/4 teaspoon of sugar
Step-by-step Instructions
1. In a bowl, add the soybean paste, cooking wine, water, and sugar, and mix well together.
2. Heat the pot and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add the mushroom, shallots, ginger, and spring onion, and stir-fry for about 4 minutes.
3. Once the shallots have softened, add the beef and stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
4. Next, pour the sauce mixed in step (1) over the beef, and let it simmer on low heat until the sauce starts to boil. It will take about 2 to 3 minutes for the sauce to come to a boil.
5. After that, taste it to check whether it's too bland or too salty, and once it's adjusted, you'll have a flavorful and aromatic beef sauce ready.
This beef sauce goes well when paired with rice, and can also be mixed in when eating Nan Gyi Thoke.
