People often think that making dumplings is quite tricky, but it's actually simple and easy if you know the step-by-step method.

Paired together with a homemade sauce, you can enjoy these tasty pork dumplings to your heart's content.

Ingredients

Wheat flour – 175 grams

Pork (finely minced) – 300 grams

Cabbage (finely sliced) – 75 grams

Ginger (grated) – 1 tablespoon

Spring onion (finely sliced) – 15 grams

Sesame oil – 1 tablespoon

Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon

White pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon

Rice vinegar – 1 tablespoon

Chili oil – 1 teaspoon

Oil – 2 tablespoons

Step-by-step Preparation

1. First, put 175 grams of wheat flour into a mixing bowl and mix it with 175 milliliters of boiled water that has cooled down. Knead it thoroughly with a wooden spoon until it becomes dough. Dust the surface where you will roll the dough with a little wheat flour, then knead by hand for about 2 to 3 minutes until the dough becomes soft. Afterward, put the dough back into the bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and leave it to rest for a while.

2. While the dough is resting, put the finely minced pork, finely chopped cabbage, ginger, and spring onion into a bowl. Add the sesame oil, soy sauce, and white pepper powder, mix thoroughly, and set aside.

3. Take the dough prepared earlier and divide it evenly into 2 portions, then further divide it into 12 pieces. Dust the rolling surface with wheat flour, and roll each piece out thinly into a round shape.

4. Take 1 tablespoon of the filling and place it on each dumpling wrapper. Then press the edges of the dumpling together and pleat it as shown in the picture. Shape the remaining dumplings in the same way.

5. For the sauce, mix together 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, and 1 teaspoon of chili oil.

6. Once the sauce is ready, heat oil in a non-stick pan with a handle, and once the oil is hot, place the dumplings in. Fry, flipping them over, for about 2 to 3 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Then add 100 milliliters of water, cover with a lid, and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Once the time is up, remove the lid and cook until the water has dried up. Fry all the remaining dumplings in the same way.

7. Once all the dumplings are cooked, transfer them onto a plate and serve together with the sauce prepared earlier. Enjoy your delicious meal!
