For dumpling lovers, this time I want to share a recipe for steamed dumplings filled with a mix of shrimp and pork, along with a variety of vegetables like mushrooms and carrots.
Ingredients
- About 40 ready-made wonton wrappers for making the dumplings
- 6 mushrooms
- 250 grams of shrimp (washed thoroughly with water and finely minced)
- 330 grams of pork (finely minced)
- 1 carrot (grated finely using a grater)
- 4 stalks of spring onion (thinly sliced) and 1 teaspoon of finely minced ginger
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon of cooking wine
- 1 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of ground pepper
Step-by-step method
1. Soak the mushrooms in hot water for about 20 to 30 minutes. Once the time is up, rinse them again with water and cut them into small pieces.
2. In a large bowl, combine the mushrooms, shrimp, pork, carrot, spring onion, ginger, egg, sesame oil, cooking wine, salt, and ground pepper, then mix well until evenly combined.
3. Next, prepare the ready-made wonton wrappers. Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling that was mixed earlier right in the center of each wrapper. Then gather the wrapper toward the center, leaving only a small opening at the top.
Repeat this process until all the wrappers and filling are used up.
4. Prepare the steamer. Then place the dumplings inside and steam for about 8 minutes.
Once the time is up, you'll have fragrant, delicious shrimp and pork steamed dumplings ready to enjoy. You can serve them with your favorite dipping sauce for extra flavor.
