Hello everyone! Whether you need to add a sour flavor when preparing dishes, or you want to drink a refreshing, hangover-curing cold drink that contains a sour taste, the thing that helps out in all these situations is tamarind.

For those who don't want to buy ready-made tamarind paste from the store but want to use fresh tamarind paste made at home, we'd like to share some easy ways to make tamarind paste.

The ingredients needed are tamarind and about half a pot of hot water.

1. First, remove any dust or other debris stuck on the tamarind. Then put the tamarind into a pot. Pour in just enough hot water to cover the tamarind. Be careful not to add too much water.

2. Let the tamarind soak for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

3. Thoroughly stir the resulting tamarind paste.

4. Next, use a strainer to separate the tamarind pulp from the liquid. Pour the tamarind liquid into a separate pot.

5. You can boil the strained tamarind pulp again with hot water to extract more liquid. However, if you reuse it repeatedly, the flavor of the tamarind won't be as good.

6. After that, bring the tamarind liquid in the separate pot to a boil for about 4 minutes. Once the time is up, remove it from the stove and let it cool.

7. Once the tamarind paste has cooled, pour it into a clean, dry glass bottle and store it in the refrigerator.

You can use this tamarind paste for up to one month.
