Feeling down because you want to eat grilled chicken but don't have a grill? Even without a grill, you can make delicious Korean style grilled chicken wings with just a pot and an oven.
Ingredients
- 1 inch piece of ginger (finely minced)
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 6 tablespoons fish sauce
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 lb chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon chili flakes
- Half an onion (finely sliced)
- 5 cloves garlic (finely minced)
Step by step instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients except the chicken wings — ginger, sesame oil, fish sauce, sugar, honey, garlic, onion, and chili flakes — and mix well until thoroughly combined.
2. Mix the resulting sauce together with the chicken wings. Let it marinate for at least one hour so the flavor soaks into the meat.
3. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat a pot and fry the chicken pieces until they turn golden brown. (No oil needed)
4. Then, transfer the fried chicken pieces into a baking dish and pour the earlier prepared sauce over the chicken pieces.
5. Once done, put the baking dish into the oven and bake for about 40 to 50 minutes. During the baking time, you'll need to flip the chicken wings once. If needed, you can also prepare extra sauce.
Once 40 minutes have passed, your delicious Korean style grilled chicken wings are ready.
