Hello everyone! This time, the dish I'd like to share is a mushroom beef soup.
Ingredients
- Beef 150 grams
- Shiitake mushrooms 4 pieces (or you can use any mushroom variety of your choice)
- Onion, half
- Carrot, half
- Spring onion 1 stalk
- Fish sauce 1 tablespoon
- Thinly sliced garlic, half a tablespoon
- Rice wine 1 tablespoon
Other seasonings needed
- Fish sauce 2 tablespoons and oyster sauce 1 tablespoon
- Sugar, half a tablespoon
- Water 1.5 cups (24 tablespoons)
- Sesame oil, half a tablespoon
- A little ground black pepper
- Cornstarch slurry (mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 3 tablespoons of water)
Step-by-step instructions
1. After slicing the beef thinly, put it in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, half a tablespoon of garlic, and 1 tablespoon of rice wine, then mix well. Then marinate for about 5 minutes.
2. Slice the onion thinly. Cut the carrot into thin strips as well. Slice the mushrooms thinly too.
3. Add a little oil to a pot and heat it up. Once the oil is hot, add the beef and stir-fry until about 50% cooked.
4. Then add the onion and carrot and stir-fry. Once the onions have softened, add the mushrooms and stir-fry for about 30 seconds.
5. Then gradually lower the heat, add 2 tablespoons of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, and half a tablespoon of sugar, and stir well. Then gradually raise the heat again and add 1.5 cups of water.
6. Once it starts to boil, add the cornstarch slurry and stir until it thickens.
7. Then turn off the heat and add half a tablespoon of sesame oil and a little ground black pepper.
And there you have it — a delicious bowl of mushroom beef soup!
