Hello everyone! You must be getting bored of eating tofu simply fried, right? That's why I want to share this recipe for hot, spicy, and delicious Korean style braised tofu.

Ingredients

  • Tofu - about 18 oz
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce and water - 3 tablespoons each
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon and sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove (thinly sliced)
  • Spring onions - 2 stalks (thinly sliced)

Step-by-step instructions

1. Cut the tofu into rectangular pieces about half an inch thick. Then gently pat them dry with a clean cloth to remove excess water. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, water, sesame oil, sugar, chili powder, sesame seeds, garlic, and spring onions, and mix well until evenly combined.

2. Heat a pan and add 1 teaspoon of oil. Place the tofu pieces into the pan and fry. Fry each side for about 3 to 4 minutes.

3. Once the tofu turns golden brown, pour the sauce from the bowl over the tofu. Lower the heat, flip the tofu to the other side, and pour the remaining sauce over it again.

Now you can enjoy this hot, spicy, and delicious braised tofu with a bowl of rice.
