- 32 pieces of tteok (rice cake)
- A little cooking oil
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of finely ground peanut powder
Ingredients needed to make the spicy sauce for those who want it spicy
- 1 tablespoon chili paste
- 1 tablespoon honey
- Half a tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 and a half tablespoons tomato sauce
- A quarter teaspoon thinly sliced garlic
Ingredients needed to make the sweet sauce for those who want it sweet and for children
- Half a tablespoon honey
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Step-by-step Instructions
Put the 7 ingredients needed for the spicy sauce (or the 4 ingredients needed for the sweet sauce) into a pot and heat for about 30 seconds. You need to stir continuously so it doesn't stick to the pot.
To make the tteok soft, put them into boiling water and boil for about 30 seconds. Then remove them from the hot water and wash again with cool water. After that, pat the tteok dry with a clean cloth.
Next, skewer the tteok onto sticks. The length of the tteok skewers may vary depending on the size of your pan.
After adding oil to the pan, put in the tteok skewers and fry each side for one minute.
Once a minute has passed, take them out of the pan and either brush on the sauce or pour all the sauce over them, whichever you prefer.
Finally, sprinkle on some sesame seeds and now you can enjoy eating it deliciously.
