Hello everyone! I'd like to share an easy method you can use at home to make exceptionally delicious tea eggs.
Ingredients
- Eggs (or) duck eggs – 12
- Light soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
- Dark soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
- Tea bags – 2 bags
- Cinnamon stick – 1 piece
- Star anise – 4 pieces
- Peel of 1 orange
- Sugar – 1 tablespoon
Step-by-step instructions
Put the eggs (or duck eggs) into a pot and boil for about 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes is up, drain the water and let them cool.
As the second step, add a little water to a pot along with the tea bags, 1 cinnamon stick, 4 star anise, orange peel, sugar, light soy sauce, and dark soy sauce, and bring to a boil.
Next, gently crack the shell of each boiled duck egg (or chicken egg) using a spoon.
Put the cracked eggs into the pot and simmer on the lowest heat for 3 hours. Once 3 hours have passed, place the eggs along with the liquid they were cooked in into the refrigerator for about one night. The longer they soak, the more delicious they become.
Just before eating, peel off the shell and you can enjoy them as a delicious snack.
