Hello everyone! This time, I'd like to share a recipe for a Russian-style dish called beef or pork stuffed cabbage rolls.

In Russia, this dish is called Russian Golubzi. I hope those who enjoy trying new and creative recipes will like it.

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • About half a bowl of rice
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 carrot

  • About 1 pound of beef or pork (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • About 2 to 3 parts of a bowl of sour cream
  • 5 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of ground black pepper

Step-by-step Instructions

Wash the rice and cook it over high heat. Once the rice is cooked, let it cool down.

While the rice is cooking, thinly slice the cabbage, onion, and carrot. Without cutting all the way through the cabbage, carefully separate out 9 cabbage leaves to use for wrapping the beef or pork filling.

Next, fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add the 9 set-aside cabbage leaves into the pot and let them boil for about 3 minutes. Then drain the water and set the leaves aside on a plate.

Heat a pan, and once the oil is hot, fry the thinly sliced cabbage, onion, and carrot for about 5 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine the minced beef or pork, fried carrot, onion, cabbage, and the cooled rice, then add salt and ground black pepper, and mix well until evenly combined.

Next, use a knife to cut out the tough veins from the 9 cabbage leaves. Then place the previously mixed meat and vegetable filling right in the center of each cabbage leaf and carefully roll it up so the filling doesn't spill out.

In a medium bowl, combine about 2/3 of a bowl of sour cream, tomato sauce, and a little water, and stir well.

Next, place the beef or pork stuffed cabbage rolls into a large pot. Then pour the mixed tomato sauce over them. Simmer over low heat for about 40 minutes.

Once the time is up, place the beef or pork stuffed cabbage rolls onto a plate, garnish as you like, and enjoy this delicious dish.
