For those who love wonton dumplings, this time we'd like to share a recipe for how to cook delicious wonton soup made with all three types of meat - shrimp, pork, and chicken - to make a tasty broth.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
- 2 stalks spring onion (thinly sliced)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- About 2 packs of wonton wrappers, for wrapping
- Half a tablespoon sesame oil
- Half a teaspoon white pepper powder
- 125 milliliters water
- About a handful of small watercress leaves
- 8 oz shrimp (washed, peeled, and thinly sliced)
- 8 oz finely chopped pork
- 8 oz finely chopped chicken
- About 1 liter pork broth (or chicken broth)
Step-by-step instructions
1. To make the wonton filling, combine the shrimp, pork, chicken, ginger, garlic, vegetable oil, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, white pepper powder, and water in a large mixing bowl, and knead/mix well for about 5 to 10 minutes.
2. To wrap the wontons, take a wonton wrapper. Place about a teaspoon of the previously mixed filling in the center of the wrapper, and neatly fold/wrap the wrapper.
3. Once all the wrappers have been wrapped, add water to a pot, and once the water is boiling, add the wontons and boil uncovered for about 3 to 5 minutes. Once the wontons float to the surface, remove them from the pot.
4. Heat another pot, add the pork broth (or chicken broth), and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add the light soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper powder, and spring onions, and stir well. Just before removing from heat, add the wontons and watercress leaves. Add a little salt, then taste for seasoning.
Now you have a delicious watercress meat wonton soup. Enjoy it to your heart's content.
