When you've eaten too much spicy food and have diarrhea, or when you're suffering from a toothache and don't feel like eating anything, or when the scorching weather has drained your body's fluids and left you feeling worn out, or when you're facing any kind of health problem, you need to stay mentally strong while also getting enough nutrition.
So this time, I'd like to share a recipe for seafood congee that will help replenish your depleted energy.
Ingredients
- 8 oz shrimp
- 2 crabs
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 4 slices ginger (finely sliced)
- 2.5 liters water
- Half a condensed milk can of rice
- 1 tablespoon cooking wine
- Salt and white pepper powder
- Spring onion and coriander, a little (thinly sliced)
Step-by-step instructions
1. Wash the shrimp and remove the heads and shells. Don't throw away the shrimp heads.
2. Remove the top shell of the crabs and wash them clean. Then cut each crab into 4 pieces.
3. Heat a pot and add the oil. Add the shrimp heads and ginger and fry for about 2 minutes. Once the oil turns reddish, add 2.5 liters of water and bring to a boil. After boiling for about 20 minutes, remove the shrimp heads.
4. Add the rice. Continue boiling for about 15 minutes. To prevent the pot from sticking, stir the mixture from the bottom. After 15 minutes, add the shrimp and crab and continue boiling for another 10 minutes.
5. Once the shrimp and crab are cooked, add salt and white pepper powder and taste for a light, mild saltiness.
Finally, you can now enjoy this delicious and nutritious seafood congee. You can add the spring onion and coriander just before serving.
