Ingredients
• Beef - 100 grams
• Chili peppers - 2 tablespoons
• Spring onion (cut into 1-inch lengths)
• Garlic - 1 bulb (peel the cloves)
• Ginger - 1 piece, about 1 inch in diameter (thinly sliced)
• Potatoes - 4
• Light soy sauce - 4 tablespoons and dark soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
• Cooking wine - 4 tablespoons
• A little water
• A little Chinese coriander (cilantro)
Step-by-step instructions
1. Cut the beef into medium-sized pieces. Then soak it in a pot filled with water for about 30 minutes.
2. In another pot, add about half a pot of water along with the ginger and cooking wine. Then add the beef and bring to a boil for about 2 minutes. Once the time is up, remove the beef.
3. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to a wok, then add the chili peppers. Next, add the spring onion, garlic, and ginger, and stir-fry in the oil until fragrant.
4. Then add the beef into the wok and stir-fry it. Add the sugar, light soy sauce, and dark soy sauce, and fry for about 2 minutes. Then add a little more water and simmer until the beef becomes tender.
5. While that is simmering, peel the potatoes and cut them into medium-sized pieces. Then boil them for about 20 minutes.
6. Once the potatoes are tender, remove them from the pot and mix them into the pot with the beef. Stir evenly for about 2 minutes, and you'll have a fragrant and delicious spicy potato and beef stir-fry dish ready!
