Hello everyone! This time, the recipe I want to share with you is a delicious spicy beef curry.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons of wheat flour
  • Salt and ground pepper
  • 800 grams of beef (cut into large chunks)
  • 1 onion (peeled and thinly sliced)

  • 5 cloves of garlic (peeled and finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 2 stalks of lemongrass (outer layer removed and thinly sliced)
  • 2 red chili peppers
  • 1 tablespoon of tamarind paste
  • Half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 kaffir lime leaves
  • 800 milliliters of coconut milk

Step-by-step instructions

1. First, preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius (300 degrees Fahrenheit).

2. Heat a pot and add 2 tablespoons of oil.

3. Put the beef chunks into a large bowl and coat evenly with wheat flour, salt, and ground pepper.

4. Add the coated beef chunks into the hot oil and fry until they turn brown. Then transfer them onto a plate.

5. Add 1 more tablespoon of oil into the pot. Then add the onions and sauté. Add the garlic, ginger, and turmeric powder, and sauté for about 2 minutes. Then add the lemongrass, chili peppers, tamarind paste, ground pepper, cinnamon powder, kaffir lime leaves, sugar, and salt, and stir evenly for about 1 minute.

6. Once the sugar has dissolved, add the coconut milk and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, add the fried beef, cover with a lid, and simmer over low heat. It should take about 1.5 to 2 hours for the beef to become tender. (You can add a little water if needed.)

Once the gravy has thickened and the beef has become tender, you'll have a delicious, spicy beef curry ready to enjoy.
