Hello everyone. Eating rice without any soup to go with it can be far too dry. If you want to enjoy your rice with great flavor, a soup is absolutely essential. So this time, I'd like to share a recipe for a beef curry soup that's so delicious and spicy-hot that it will make you forget your relatives.
Ingredients
- About 3/4 lb beef (thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- About 2 bowls worth of curry powder/curry paste (kin-chi)
- 1/2 onion (thinly sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 3 cups water
- 1 tablespoon each of dried chili flakes and chili powder
- 2 pieces tofu (cut into small squares)
- 2 stalks spring onion (thinly sliced)
Step-by-step instructions
In a pot, add about half a tablespoon of sesame oil, then add the beef and stir for a few minutes.
Add the curry powder/paste and stir for about 5 minutes.
Add the remaining sesame oil along with the onion, garlic, fish sauce, dried chili flakes, and chili powder into the pot. Add more water, then lower the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
After that, add the tofu pieces and continue simmering for another 10 to 20 minutes.
Right before taking the pot off the stove, sprinkle in the spring onions.
Finally, you can now enjoy this hot, spicy, and flavorful beef curry soup together with rice.
