Hello everyone! For those who don't want to eat watercress only in stir-fried form, this time I'd like to share a recipe for watercress salad. It's not a sweet salad, but a spicy one, so it's sure to tingle the tongues of those who love spicy food.
Ingredients
- Watercress 1 bunch (about 10 oz)
- Spring onion 1 stalk (thinly sliced)
- Chili paste 3 teaspoons
- Fish sauce 2 teaspoons
- Thinly sliced garlic 1 teaspoon
- Sugar half a teaspoon
- Sesame oil and sesame seeds 1 teaspoon each
- Salt and ground pepper, a little
Step by step instructions
1. Cut off the roots of the watercress. Wash it thoroughly with water until all the sand between the leaves is completely gone.
2. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Once it's boiling, add the watercress leaves and let it boil for about 30 seconds.
3. Once the set time is up, immediately remove it from the pot and place it in ice water to cool.
4. Once cooled, take out the watercress leaves and squeeze out all the water. Then cut into pieces about 3 inches long.
5. Next, put it in a bowl and separate the clumped watercress leaves with your hand. Add the chili paste, fish sauce, garlic, sugar, sesame oil, sesame seeds, a little salt and ground pepper, and mix well until evenly combined.
After tasting it for a balance of mild saltiness, you'll have a delicious, spicy watercress salad ready.
You can enjoy it deliciously together with rice.
