Just as mango is the favorite fruit, pork is the favorite meat for Myanmar people, who tend to enjoy eating pork a lot. So, let's learn together how to cook pork to make it deliciously sweet.
Ingredients
- Pork - 1.5 viss
- Brown sugar - 8 teaspoons
- Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper powder - half teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Onion - 1
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Spring onion - 1 stalk
Step-by-step preparation method
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, chili powder, ginger powder, black pepper powder, and salt, and stir well. Once mixed, sprinkle about half of this powder mixture over the pork and rub it in thoroughly.
Next, heat a pan, add 1 tablespoon of oil, and then add the pork pieces and fry them. Once the pork pieces turn brown, transfer them to a baking tray and place it in the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes. When the time is up, take it out of the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, slice the onion into fairly large chunks. Once the pork has cooled, cut it into medium-thick slices.
Next, heat a pan, add oil, and fry the onions for about 2 minutes. Then add the pork and stir well. After a few seconds, add the remaining half of the brown sugar mixture into the pan and fry together.
Once the sugar has fully soaked into the pork, remove it from the heat, transfer it onto a plate, and garnish with spring onions. And there you have it — a delicious plate of sweet pork dish!
