Fried tuna fish cake with tomato is a dish that will win over the taste buds even of those who say they don't like fried fish or fish curry.
Ingredients
- 5 oz canned tuna
- 1 tomato
- 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
- 3 tablespoons thinly sliced spring onion
- 2 eggs
- 12 tablespoons oil
- 48 tablespoons water (3 glasses)
- A little salt and ground pepper
Step-by-step method
1. Heat a pot and add 3 tablespoons of oil. When the oil is hot, add the onions and sauté until fragrant. Then add the tuna and stir-fry for about 1 minute. Add salt and ground pepper and stir-fry again. Then transfer it onto a plate.
2. Pour water into the same pot and bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add the tomato and boil until soft.
3. Once the tomato has softened, remove it, let it cool, and peel off the skin. Then flatten the tomato by pressing it down with a fork.
4. Crack the eggs into a bowl, add a little salt, and beat until well mixed.
5. Pour the remaining oil into the pot. Dip the tomato into the egg mixture, then place it into the hot oil to fry. Spread the fried tuna over the tomato. Then gently flatten it with the back of a spoon. Pour about half of the beaten egg over the tuna. Also pour the egg around the tomato onto the tuna.
Keep pouring the egg until it is fully cooked.
6. Then flip the tomato over to the other side. Pour in the remaining egg and continue frying.
Just before taking it off the stove, sprinkle in the spring onions.
And there you have it — a delicious fried tuna fish cake with tomato!
