Hello Foodies! This time, I want to share an easy recipe for making crispy tempura shrimp that you can cook at home.

Ingredients

  • Shrimp - 12 pieces
  • Rice flour - 3 teaspoons
  • Ice water - 4 tablespoons

  • Egg - 1
  • Wheat flour - 3 tablespoons
  • Oil - 1 cup (16 tablespoons)

Step-by-step instructions

Peel the shells and wash the shrimp until clean, then sprinkle rice flour over them.

In a medium bowl, add water, crack in the egg, and stir briskly. Add the wheat flour and stir again.

Heat a pot and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add two or three drops of the batter made earlier to test it.

Dip the rice-flour-coated shrimp into the batter, then fry in the hot oil. After about 3 minutes, when the shrimp turn golden, flip them to the other side. After frying for another 2 to 3 minutes, remove the fried shrimp and place them on paper towels to drain the oil, then let them cool.

Once the shrimp have cooled, you can enjoy them with your favorite dipping sauce.

Whether eaten as a snack or paired with rice, this crispy tempura shrimp goes well with either and is always delicious.
