Hello everyone! This time, I want to share how to make soft and tender cabbage rolls stuffed with beef filling.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams minced beef (pork or chicken can also be used)
  • A little salt and black pepper powder
  • 20 grams Panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 egg

  • 70 grams onion (finely minced)
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 19 to 20 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 250 ml to 300 ml hot water
  • 30 grams bacon (sliced thinly into strips)

Step-by-step instructions

1. Cut out the core of the cabbage with a knife.

2. Put the cabbage into a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Then microwave it for about 10 minutes. (If it's still not soft enough after 10 minutes, microwave it for an additional 3 to 5 minutes.)

3. Then peel off the cabbage leaves one by one. Remove the tough stem from each cabbage leaf with a knife. You should get about 17 leaves in total on average.

4. Next, you need to prepare the meat filling. In a large bowl, knead the milk and breadcrumbs together until well mixed. Then let it sit for about a minute.

5. In another bowl, knead the beef together with salt and black pepper powder until well mixed. Then add the earlier milk-breadcrumb mixture. Add the egg and knead until well combined.

6. Add the finely minced onion and knead together once more until well mixed.

7. Finally, divide the beef filling into 8 equal portions as usually shown. You will need 2 cabbage leaves for each portion.

8. The next step is to make the rolls.

First, lay 2 cabbage leaves ready on a chopping board. Then place the meat filling onto one cabbage leaf and roll it up. Roll it once more with another leaf on top of that cabbage leaf. Once done, secure it firmly with a toothpick.

9. Once all the rolls are finished, place them neatly in rows in a pot (or slow cooker).

10. Add the tomato sauce. Add the hot water. Add the bacon.

11. Cover the top with the last remaining cabbage leaf.

12. Then cover the pot with a lid and cook for about 3 hours.

Once the set time is up, you will have delicious beef-stuffed cabbage rolls ready. Serve on a plate and enjoy while it's tasty.

Don't forget to remove the toothpicks too!
