Hello everyone. The dish I'd like to share this time is a fried turnip pancake. For those who find it hard to figure out how to cook turnips, this is a finger-licking snack that will make you forget your relatives.

Ingredients

  • White turnip 20 oz
  • Water 375 ml
  • Oil
  • Dried shrimp 1 tablespoon
  • Dried mushrooms 5 pieces (soak in water and slice thinly)

  • Pork sausage 1 piece (cut into small cubes)
  • Spring onion 1 stalk (sliced thinly)
  • Wheat flour 130 grams
  • Corn starch 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and sugar, half a teaspoon each

Step-by-step instructions

1. In a pot, boil the turnip with 250 ml of water for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, take out the turnip. Let the water the turnip was boiled in cool, then pour it into a bowl.

Once the turnip has cooled, grate it using a grater.

2. Heat a wok and add 2 tablespoons of oil. Once the oil is hot, add the dried shrimp, mushrooms, and pork sausage, and fry for about 5 minutes. Then add the spring onion and stir evenly. Once done, remove from the heat and let it cool.

3. Into the bowl containing the turnip liquid, add the wheat flour, corn starch, salt, sugar, and pepper powder, and mix evenly. Then add the shrimp, mushroom, and pork sausage mixture, and knead evenly. After that, let it rest for about 15 minutes.

4. As a final step, after mixing the batter evenly, pour it into a tray and smooth the surface evenly. Steam the tray in a steamer for about 30 minutes.

5. Once the time is up, take the tray out of the steamer and turn it over onto a chopping board. The turnip pancake should come out on its own. Cut the turnip pancake into slices about half a finger thick.

6. Heat a wok and add 2 tablespoons of oil. Once the oil is hot, fry the thinly sliced turnip pancake until it turns golden brown.

Now you'll have a crispy, delicious turnip pancake. You can enjoy it deliciously with your favorite dipping sauce or condiment.
