For those who love eating mixed salads, this time I want to share how to make Vietnamese-style chicken salad.

Ingredients

  • Chicken 300 grams (boiled)
  • Carrots 2 pieces
  • About a handful of mint leaves and a bunch of coriander
  • Lime juice 100 milliliters
  • Sugar 80 grams
  • Cabbage, half a head
  • Finely sliced garlic, half a teaspoon
  • Onion, 1 piece
  • Fish sauce 100 milliliters
  • Chili pepper 1 pod (finely sliced)

Step-by-step instructions

1. Shred the boiled chicken by hand. (Shredding with your hands rather than cutting with a knife gives the chicken better flavor, as it retains the taste longer)

2. Slice the cabbage and carrots thinly. After slicing the onion thinly, soak it in ice water with ice cubes. (Soaking in ice water can reduce the strong smell of the onion)

3. In a bowl, mix the lime juice, sugar, fish sauce, chili pepper, and garlic together thoroughly. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.

4. After putting the shredded chicken into a plate, mix one tablespoon of the dressing made earlier with the chicken.

5. Then add the cabbage, carrot, onion, mint leaves, and coriander into the chicken plate, pour in all the remaining dressing, and mix thoroughly.

After tasting to check the mild sour and salty flavor, you will have a delicious plate of Vietnamese-style chicken salad.
