Hello everyone! If we're talking about the most famous and most popular food in Thailand, Pad Thai, the Thai fried rice noodle dish, is definitely at the top of the list. So let me share a simple method for making this delicious Pad Thai, loved by so many, right at home.

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast meat - 300 grams
  • Shrimp - 10 pieces
  • Rice noodles - 1 bundle
  • Bean sprouts - 60 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Ripe chili peppers - 2 pieces
  • Ginger - 1 piece
  • Spring onions - 3 stalks
  • Lime - 1 fruit
  • Crushed peanuts - 3 spoons
  • Egg - 1
  • Soy sauce - 3 spoons
  • Vinegar - 3 spoons
  • Fish sauce - 2 spoons
  • Brown sugar - 3 spoons
  • Chili powder - about half a spoon
  • A little salt
  • Water
  • Vegetable oil

Step-by-step instructions

(1) First, wash the chicken thoroughly and remove the bones. Take the resulting chicken bones, add a little salt and a little chili powder, and boil them in a pot. Then cut the remaining boneless meat into pieces about an inch in size. Marinate the chicken pieces with soy sauce. Also peel and devein the shrimp, removing the dark line along the back, and wash them clean.

(2) Next, prepare the Pad Thai sauce, which is the essential soul of Pad Thai. First, in a bowl, combine 5 spoons of the chicken broth made earlier, 3 spoons of vinegar, 2 spoons of fish sauce, 3 spoons of brown sugar, 1 spoon of soy sauce, about half a spoon of chili powder, and 2 spoons of lime juice or 2 spoons of tamarind juice, mixing them together in proportion.

(3) Once the Pad Thai sauce is ready, prepare another pot with about 2 cups of water to boil the noodles. When the water comes to a rolling boil, add 1 bundle of Pad Thai rice noodles and boil for about 6 minutes. Once the time is up and the noodles are cooked, drain them in a strainer, rinse with cold water, and set aside to cool.

(4) Next, add about 2 spoons of vegetable oil to a pot and sauté the finely chopped garlic and ginger. Once the garlic turns golden, add the thinly sliced chili peppers and fry for about 1 minute. Then add the chicken that was marinated in soy sauce and fry together. Once the surface of the chicken firms up, add the shrimp and fry together.

(5) Continue by cracking one egg into the pot, mixing and frying it together. Finally, add the drained noodles along with about 3 spoons of the prepared Pad Thai sauce, and stir-fry gently for about 3 minutes. Then add the bean sprouts along with another 2 spoons of Pad Thai sauce, and fry for about 3 more minutes. Once done, top with spring onions, transfer to a plate of your choice, and enjoy it deliciously with crushed peanuts, cilantro, and lime.
