Pumpkin, a food packed with abundant nutrients, can be eaten not only for its flesh but also for its seeds. Pumpkin is rich in vitamins and minerals, and it's also low in calories.
You can cook pumpkin in many different forms, such as pumpkin curry and pumpkin soup, but this time I want to share how to make pumpkin puree.
Step (1)
First, carefully select a pumpkin. Then cut it in half.
Step (2)
Scoop out the seeds and fibers from inside with a spoon. If you like roasted pumpkin seeds, wash the seeds, let them dry, and set them aside.
Step (3)
Next, sprinkle salt over the pumpkin. Then line a baking tray that will go into the oven with parchment paper, and place the pumpkin face-down on the paper. Bake it at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes.
Step (4)
Once the time is up, scoop out the flesh of the pumpkin with a spoon.
Step (5)
Put the pumpkin flesh you obtained into a blender, turn the switch to full power, and blend for about 3 to 4 minutes.
If you plan to use it right away once it's done, transfer it directly into a plate. If you want to keep it for two or three days, put it in an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator — it will keep for exactly one week.
If you put the pumpkin puree into a plastic bag and freeze it in the freezer, it will keep for exactly one month.
