Hello everyone! This time, the little dish I want to share is peanut candy, a sweet treat. For those who like to have something sweet after every meal, I'm sharing this so you can easily make it at home.
Ingredients
- Raw peanuts 150 grams
- Sesame seeds 100 grams
- White sugar 100 grams
- Honey 1/2 tablespoon
- Oil 1 tablespoon
- Water 4 tablespoons
- A little salt
Step-by-step method
1. Heat a pan and stir-fry the raw peanuts until they turn a light brown color.
If you don't want to roast them in a pan and prefer using an oven, preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius. Then you can put the peanuts in the oven for about 25 minutes.
2. Transfer the roasted peanuts into a bowl and remove the skins. Then roll them with a rolling pin. After that, mix them together with the sesame seeds.
3. Heat a pan. Add the sugar, water, oil, salt, and honey, and heat over medium heat.
4. When the sugar syrup starts bubbling up with small bubbles, check the temperature with a thermometer. Once the temperature rises to between 125 and 130 degrees Celsius, add the peanut and sesame seed mixture, then reduce the heat. (When measuring the temperature with the thermometer, make sure the thermometer doesn't touch the pan directly while measuring.)
5. Once the peanuts, sesame seeds, and sugar syrup are evenly mixed, pour the mixture into a tray lined with parchment paper. Then shape it into a neat rectangle using a large flat spoon. While the peanut candy is still hot, cut it into pieces about 3 centimeters by 2 centimeters.
6. After letting it cool for a few minutes, store it in a clean, dry airtight container for up to about 2 weeks.
Once the set time has passed, you can enjoy this delicious peanut candy as a sweet treat after every meal.
