Greetings everyone! Lately, tea-boiled duck eggs have become one of the increasingly popular foods. Since they are also medicinally beneficial to eat, both adults and children enjoy them. This time, unlike the usual tea-boiled chicken eggs we normally eat, we're sharing a simple way you can make at home a tea-boiled duck egg that has a distinctive flavor and is good for your health.
- 12 duck eggs
- 2 packets of Black Tea leaves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 star anise
- 1 orange peel
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- A little salt
- Water
Step-by-step instructions
(1) First, to boil the duck eggs, pour about 4 cups of water into a pot and bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add the duck eggs and boil for about 10 minutes. Adding a little salt while boiling makes it even better.
(2) Once the duck eggs are cooked, scoop them out into a bowl and let them cool. Next, in another pot, add the Black Tea packets, cinnamon stick, star anise, orange peel, brown sugar, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and a little salt, then pour in about 2 cups of water and boil for about 10 minutes.
(3) While the tea leaves and other ingredients are boiling, use a small spoon to gently crack the shells of the duck eggs so they are cracked all over but not broken apart. Once all the eggshells have been cracked, add the eggs into the pot of boiling tea mixture. You'll need to simmer them on low heat for about 3 hours.
(4) This allows all the flavors to seep into the eggs. Once the 3 hours are up, turn off the heat and let the eggs continue to cool in the pot for about another half hour. Once the half hour has passed and the eggs have cooled down, your delicious and healthy, medicinally beneficial tea-boiled duck eggs are ready to enjoy.
